Traffic Citations, DUI, Marijuana, Shoplifting and Criminal City Ordinances in the Austell Municipal Court

The Austell Municipal Court is located in the Threadmill Complex and handles traffic citations, DUI, marijuana, shoplifting, and minor in possession charges.

The Austell Municipal Court is located in the Threadmill complex at 5000 Austell Powder Springs Road Suite 175, Austell, Georgia 30106. The Austell Municipal Court handles citations issued by the Austell Police Department and Georgia State Patrol that occur within the city limits of Austell Georgia. The Austell Municipal Court processes and handles all traffic citations, city ordinance violations like disorderly conduct violations, and select misdemeanor offenses such as DUI, marijuana, minor in possession of alcohol, and shoplifting charges.

The Austell Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction, meaning they do not have the ability to provide you with a jury trial. If you are eligible for a jury trial on your case and would like one, your case would have to be sent to the Cobb County State Court for further prosecution. In my experience, most cases can be handled effectively in the Austell Municipal Court. Speaking with the city’s Solicitor will often provide you with an outcome that can avoid points on your license, license suspensions or other collateral consequences of your charge. For more serious offenses such as marijuana, shoplifting, and minor in possession, the Austell Municipal Court is generally very reasonable in resolutions for first time offenders.

Speaking with an experienced Austell Municipal Court lawyer before you handle your case can be to your advantage. Attorneys know what different outcomes are possible for your charge and can discuss with you potential resolutions prior to court so you are informed before making your decision on how you want to resolve your case. If you have a case in the Austell Municipal Court and would like to speak about it before court, please give me a call or text at 678-753-6431.
